Marina didn’t want to do her homework assigned from the English academy. This was the result.
Me: Marina, you are going to write about your ideal playground and then draw it.
Marina: My ideal playground is white.
Me: Marina, you can’t have a white playground.
Marina: But then I don’t have to draw anything!
Me: Your teacher will not like that.
Marina: *shrugs* Then she will be angry.
And later, when working with opposites, I sang a few songs to help her remember some of the pairs, like “Hot N Cold” by Katy Perry and “My Heart Will Go On” by Céline Dion. She was amused by my dramatic renditions, but didn’t seem to find the songs too helpful until she came across a new pair of opposites.
Marina: Do you have a song for this word? Because that helped me soooo much before.
Me: Are you being sarcastic?
Marina: *smiles enigmatically*
